Associate Solicitor
Laura joined Hepburn Delaney in January 2023 as an Associate Solicitor in our Family Team.
Laura has specialised exclusively in family law since qualification and advises on all aspects of the law in this area arising from the breakdown of a relationship. Laura has expertise in divorce and financial settlements on divorce, all areas of private children law, injunctive proceedings and cohabitation disputes. As a member of Resolution, Laura is committed to resolving family law disputes in a constructive and cost-effective manner however, for those cases that require court involvement, she is able to deliver a robust approach in an effort to achieve client objectives. Laura will tailor her approach to meet the specific and varying needs of her clients and provides clear, practical advice on complex legal issues while remaining compassionate to the difficulties faced by her clients. Laura takes a personable yet professional approach and prides herself on building strong rapport with her clients.
Laura completed her training at a Legal 500 Law Firm where she was retained within the Family Team upon qualification. Prior to joining Hepburn Delaney she worked within a large, specialist Family Law Firm where she gained experience in dealing with cases of a complex nature and with high asset values. Laura has dealt with financial remedy cases involving assets of up to £3M and has assisted more senior solicitors on high net worth cases involving assets of up to £20M. Laura also has experience in dealing with complex children cases where there has been local authority involvement and in applications to remove/contest the removal of children from the jurisdiction. Laura also has experience in representing clients in respect of applications for Special Guardianship Orders.
Laura completed her undergraduate degree at Queen Mary and Westfield University in London where she studied English Literature and Hispanic Studies and undertook a year working in Spain as a teaching assistant at secondary school level as part of her course. Upon completing her undergraduate degree in 2004, Laura went on to work in various legal support roles in both family and criminal law in both London based and regional law firms. This enabled Laura to amass considerable experience in family law prior to qualification. While working in these roles Laura completed both a Graduate’s Diploma in Law and the Legal Practicing Course (LPC) with BPP University in London and was admitted as a solicitor in 2016.
